Today it is hot and windy with little relief from the sea breeze.
I looked at the 3 PALM TREES as they were buffeted by the wind the lower parts dry the top half just barely alive.
They had not been watered for some days or nearly a week on my reconing.
I came in and emailed the council parks and gardens dept.A water tanker was down in 15 minutes.
Then I decided to consult with neighbours re these 3 PALM TREES.We phoned a contact at the Botanical Gardens of Victoria and he suggetsed leaving them where they are as another move in these times of drought would surely be the end for them.
We have decided among ourselves to look after them and have made suggestions for what to plant around the base to protect the root system as at present it has an open channel exposing the roots.
When council gets back to us on this offer we will work with them to make this little reserve quite beautiful
It is nice I think if we can be part of making our community something to be proud of and often ratepayers do know what needs doing.
