I write tonight to add to the tale of the PALM trees ,planted I felt in a totally inapropriate place on a road near my home.
So I wrote to The MAYOR, I wrote to my Local COUNCILLOR,I wrote to the Parks & Gardens co/ord at my council
and lastly I spoke to my neighbours asking their opinions on the PALM trees,
A meeting and viewing was arranged and all agreed that the PALM trees were totally unsuited to where they had been planted..
So now we wait for a better place to plant them and hope that by all this moving around they are not damaged in any way.
At the moment they look sad and sorry.
A point raised at the meeting was to put a more suitable group of trees on this bare site,so now submissions are coming in to me for passing on to the parks & gardens for their ok.......Good outcome I say ...Lois Daley Tues 15/10/2002.
